Pub Visit - USA/Canada

Wednesday 23rd May 2012

Bob Thompson

I walked to here from J.T Schmid's and it took about twenty minutes. The contrast between the two could not have been more different as this brewery is a labour of love. It was established in 2012 by Evan Price who had worked as an assistant brewer for others prior to taking up this challenge. It is located in an industrial unit on the Stadium Plaza Business Park.

Noble 1This is a working brewery and the tasting room is only open when the brewery has finished for the day, please see the opening times below. I could tell that it had only recently opened as everything was spotlessly clean. The tasting room is in a separate room but you have to walk through the brewery to reach the rest room facilities. In the tasting room there are maps of the USA and of the World with pins showing where the customers had come from.

I understand the beer range often changes. This was what was on offer when I visited: Pale Ale (5.6%); Alpha Red Ale (7.2%); Dark Sybian Black IPA (6.5%); IPA (6.8%); Knight Changer (sic) Imperial Stout (8.9%) and Crusade Barley Wine (10.5%).

Noble 2I tasted four of these six and this is what I thought. Pale Ale was very good, light yet tasty with a good balance. Dark Sybian IPA was great being low in malt taste and high in bitterness. Knight Changer Imperial Stout had the perfect balance with a nice dark flavour and reasonable bitterness. IPA was not as assertive as some and was very dry with little floral tastes; still very good indeed.

As can be seen, I liked the beers very much, and would highly recommend this brewery if you are in Orange County.

After walking past some office buildings you are on East Katella Avenue. Cross to the other side at the intersection. The street on the other side is South Sinclair Street. Follow it as it turns slightly to the right and ten to the left and just before it turns to the right you will find the brewery.
