We eventually got to this pub after travelling on three metro lines with two changes to arrive at Smolenskaya station. Five minutes walk from there brought us to TINKOFF / ТИНЪОФФ, at Protochniy Pereulok 11.

Dark Lager, Golden Beer, Unfiltered Pilsener Beer, Wheat Beer and Märzen (seasonal beer) were the offerings. Everything apart from the wheat beer was consumed and the best was the Golden Beer.

This brew pub is extremely modern, being purpose built and part of a nation-wide chain, that is still owned by its founder and expanding.

Bottled Tinkoff beers are at the very top end of the market and are not cheap, although very good. This side of the business has been sold to In-Bev for an enormous amount, although we believe that the brew pubs are now a separate company.

There is much good beer in Russia, especially in the provincial towns, it's a country that's hardly been explored. Many gems must exist.
