Bob Thompson
On my Saturday tour of pubs east of the Willamette River the next visit was to a new brew pub with yet another canine name. It is at 61 SE Yamhill Street, one block below the main thoroughfare of Morrison Street and its bridge over the Willamette river. Situated between the railroad tracks and the river in an industrial area, it promised much, but was sadly disappointing.
This is the beer selection, which I must admit, is quite weird: Little Dog (3.5%), Ruth (American IPA) (4.5%), Blue Dot (Double India PA) (7.0%), Fred (Golden Strong Ale) (10%), Adam (a smoky chocolate flavoured beer) (10% abv), Doggie Claws 2010 (Barley Wine) (11.5%), Cherry Adam from the Wood (13.5%). I had two small glasses of Ruth and Blue Dot. Both were acceptable but rather thin. I am sure that, as this brew pub settles down, the beers will improve.
Further reports are most welcome.
