Bob Thompson
We arrived at this pub off the no 10 tram travelling north and alighted at the Bulovka stop. There are other trams to this stop. Around the corner on the street of the same name we found our watering hole, see photo left.
There are two names involved here as Richter is the name of the brewery but it is located in the Pivovar U Balovky. It's address is Bulovka 17 and it's a very pleasant pub in a suburban street well away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre, and it's all the better for it.
Factor in that the beer is very good and, so I'm told, is the food and you're on to a winner.
Beers on the occasion of our visit were 12% Svètlý Ležák (light, 5.0%), 12% Polotmavý (half-dark, 5.0%), 13% Weissbier (wheat, note the German name, 5.1%) and finally a special, Polotmavý Weissbier (half-dark wheat). The shining brewery dominates the room which is fairly small but very atmospheric.
